    Default Pet peeve

I just spent at least 10 minutes picking burrs (aka known as hitch hikers ) off my cat. Love fall but hate the picking of the fur. Feel so bad, sometimes you just can't help taking some fur with the burrs. Seems like there are 3 different kinds around here: small green balls, big bristly brown balls and little flat Y looking like ones, lol. Anyone else picking (also ticking off)off their pets?

thankfully not much by way of burrs around us. now when we used to go camping when i was a kid, we were always picking them off our socks. i have been know to rip out some hair when taking ticks of ddog. that doesn't make him happy either.

Yep, and off myself. For some stupid reason I thought it would be cool to let this little patch of weeds grow, because butterflies love the flowers. Little did I know it was Spanish Needles, the most obnoxious "tag along" weed ever! Now they are all over my yard, and I can't go anywhere without getting them on me in the fall.

I'm slowly but surely winning the battle against the Beggar Lice plants. I fought them all last year, digging, spraying, and I think they're mostly gone.

I remember picking pricklies off my last cat. I always tried to look at it as quality "pack grooming" time. She would nuzzle and lick my hands and I would free her from the nasties. She always seemed to enjoy the grooming time. Now my dog, that is another story, he HATES to be brushed or combed or picked at. Practically have to hog tie him to remove burrs!

Ugh, you don't EVEN want to see my "kids" right now, we have them in abundance! I'm waiting for hubby to brush hog the pasture then the mares are getting their manes roached and tails combed out. Poor girls look like they have dreadlocks right now and they just LOVE to share them with me!

We sometimes find the little green balls. Let me tell you what a pain they are to get them out of a Sheltie's bib!!!!

One advantage of inside cats - and thanks for reminding me that there ARE some that offset the catbox issue ;-)

Speaking of the catbox issue, my new baby will not cover his stuff, and it stinks up the whole house! My big cat is so tidy. I just don't understand why this one doesn't know to cover it.
