Default new member of the family!!!

My BF and I just 'added to the family'! We adopted a beautiful baby kitten. Lexi is approx. 8 weeks old. We got her from a local clinic that had a sign up, they got her from a man who was giving them away in a parking lot. The woman I talked to said she figured that they would have a better chance of giving her away there than he would, and they gave her all her shots up to date. She had 4 siblings, but the mother and two siblings got hit by a car, leaving 3 kittens behind. The man had already given away one, so the lady at the clinic just got two to give away. She had given away Lexi's brother yesterday, and she said Lexi had been lonely all day since then. I fell in love with her the moment I saw her. She is black and white and she has two kinks in her tail (unexplained). She loves to cuddle and plays so much. She is aready litter box trained and has no problems adapting to the new environment. I couldn't be happier! I am just so glad to give her a home also, it must have been a lonely night last night without her brother. Every time she goes to sleep (she of course, sleeps alot) she comes and sits in somebody's lap. She won't sleep alone....such a sweety. (She is sitting in my lap right now!)

Oh and Lexi loooovvveesss the computer, she is mesmerized by it. It's so funny. She will jump up on the couch and try and sneak over to have a look at what we stare at so much....Kitty proofing your home is hard though! We still have way too many cords out so we can't leave her in the living room if we aren't around to watch her.

Enjoy your lap kitty!! I love the lap kitties. They are my favorite. My lap kitty died about 2 years ago. I still miss her. She would have lived in my lap being petted forever. Our other cat doesn't like to be picked up much less lay in our laps. He does give kisses, smooches and nibbles, though, which our lap kitty did not.

Her favorite toy? My backpack. Sure, she's got a scratching post with catnip on it....but what does she want to climb all over? my backpack! It's got zippers to bat around, mesh padding on the back to climb on, straps that you can chase around...and she doesn't seem to hurt it at all so have at it. My shoes, on the other hand...
