Default I have a major problem in the bedroom

and her name is Heidi. She's a 6 lb. apricot, toy poodle and she snores like a bear! She sleeps in her crate next to our bed. I swear as soon as she gets in the crate, wolfs down her treat, turns a few circles and lays down, she's asleep and snoring. By the time Gripey and I get ready for bed, lay down in the bed, she's snoring so loud that I'm wondering if I can get to sleep for the noise level! I never dreamed that I'd have to think of ways to drown out her snoring noise. I'm thinking one of those wave machines...... Can't believe she snores like she does...she's so little and so cute.....who knew?

LOL! And I thought this post was definitely going somewhere else. Imagine that! Well, as far as your little snore-machine goes--has she always hd a snoring problem? Have you taken her to the vet to see if maybe she has allergy or sinus problems? I had a patient once who had a little dog wo had very bad allergies and was being treated for them with medication. Hope y'all can figure out a solution soon. I imagine all that snoring could cause other problems in the bedroom for you and Gripey.

My dog snores, too, but I actually find it comforting.
Would she sleep in another room, since she falls asleep in her crate without you there anyway??

She hasn't always snored this bad. I've been noticing for the past couple of years that I could hear her during the day as she sleeps the day away....on the sofa on her blanket. But she has put on a couple of pounds or maybe one lately, perhaps that has added to it. Now if she develops sleep apnea and has to have a bypap machine I'm moving to another state.....

I would probably ask her vet, just to be sure. The few extra pounds could be the culprit.

Could you cover the crate with a towel or blanket to muffel the noise a little?

DD's little dog snores too--it is kinda cute.

Maybe it would help if you fluff her pillow, leave a mint and fold a towel into a cute little boy doggie for her.

I have a husband who snores. I was thinking of putting him in a crate beside the bed but from your post that does not take care of the problem.

I have never had a pet that snores. The first dog I ever owned cried in his sleep a lot.

Have you talked to the vet? This one baffles me.

Oh, I hadn't thought of that Darlene....

My dh used to keep me awake snoring. He lost weight and now it's the dog. Hmmm, I wonder if she was snoring all the time and I just couldn't hear it?

Bella snores if she's stopped up, when she gets kinda choked up I give her an antihistimine that the vet gave me. If I run out I can give her 1/2 a benedryl but your pups much smaller than mine. Bella was a foundling rescue and the vet thought her nose had been broken along with the pneumonia, tapeworm and ringworm she had when she was found at 5 weeks old. Anyway, that's why I try to pay attention to her breathing during the windy days.

ROFL, so did i. Suppose it comes with my job eh??

I'd talk to the vet. She might have worsening allergies that something as simple as a humidifier might help. Never know till ya ask. My mom's-now- my- brothers- by- default cat snores bad bad. And when he sneezes it's so gross. you literally have to mop up and clean surfaces after...ugh, too much detail... was snoring badly and it turned out that in addition to some weight he needed to get off, he also has some allergy issues and to help him if i remember right they have a medicine they have to give him. cleared him up, he cam breathe and therefore no snoring.

Both my cats snore. Not alot but when they do I usually start laughing. My one cat sleeps on the bed with me. She started snoring really loud and woke me up. At first I though it was funny until I realized she was keeping me awake. Then I just nudged her and she stopped.
