I tend to take pictures when I think something is "picture worthy" which is wrong. I have now started to carry my camera with me everywhere. I'll take pictures of the silliest, most mundane things (like my stapler at work LOL) but have found that it's those pictures that are special to me.
The rice...I only wish that my family liked it! I love it and would make it all the time if I knew it wouldn't go to waste.
Can't wait to see your pics! Make sure you post them!

I have really bad light at my house and need to work on taking indoor photos not only during the day but at night, too. I wish I was the type of person that could just pick up a camera and through trial and error learn. That's how I approach most everything else. But for some reason, I feel the need to learn every little thing about how and why. And that's all great, but I should be DOING not just reading. I took a class and tried to fit it in during a busy week. I was falling asleep through it. Bad timing. I found a site with terrific guides and lots of wonderful information.

One of his guides was every single thing I learned in my class. Loved the pics. The food looked delish! I think you have gotten some great constructive criticism. You won't from me though! Looks like you could outcook and outphotograph me anyday!!

Great pictures! Personally, I like the bare minimum in a picture. All the accessories distract from the food ~ but that's just me. I have a hard time taking pics of some things like roast chickens, turkeys, etc.
I use background lighting (2 of them) and a white background from a lighting kit that my DH bought me. I've also seen black backgrounds which look really cool, too.
Try using www.picnik.com if you need to do some "surgery" on your pics. I put a watermark on all my pics that are on my blog and I use picnik for that.
Your pictures are great ~ keep it up!Last edited by nancycg56; 02-16-2009 at 10:27 PM. Reason: Spelling

Your photos are a sight for MORE eyes!

I think you have a natural talent for photography and an artistic eye. Keep up the good work.

Aawww, thanks everyone. I know I have room for improvement, but it's nice to hear that my pics are enjoyed as well. You all are very sweet.
