    Default Shot a bear today...

Just with the camera though. Went for a walk with the dogs today and ran into this guy. Coming out of the trail to the tracks, I thought I saw a wolf running into the trees, so I called the dogs and kept them close.

Got a little way past where the animal had ran into the trees, there he was, not a wolf though. Didn't seem too concerned about us, the dogs didn't even notice him for about 30 seconds. Then they were very interested, but they listened to me.

    Nice shots! Lucky you.

We had one stealing trash from us the other night. We knew it was there because the bear alarm went off. One of our huskies laid on the bed, looked out the window, and snorted a few times.

Medium zoom, I guess. I was about 75-100ft away.

lol I was actually walking towards him at the end, I wanted to get a better shot! When I started moving towards it, the dogs did too, and that's when the bear ran away.

Black bears don't really concern me too much, more like big racoons. Most of the time, if you yell at them and wave your arms, they run away as fast as they can. The rest of the time they attack. j/k

Just a comfort thing I guess. We're surrounded by them up here, every year we have lots walk right into our back yard. In the summer, we head down to the "zoo" (the local garbage dump) and it's nothing to see 20 or more.
