I'm off the pill!!

We are trying to figure out when would be best to try for a baby.

One angle is before, or after we get a house. We aren't going to try for a house until Spring 2009, and since I will have 1 year paid (50% of salary) mat leave, I am not sure if it would affect our chances of getting a mortgage if I was pregnant when we went in. I also need to be settled in a job, which I am working on right now.

It's not TERRIBLY urgent, but I don't want to wait too long, as I am now 30, and have endometriosis. I am officially off the pill and on mat vitamins instead. The reason I went off so early before we're actually going to try is becasue I don't get a period when I'm off my b/c, so we have no idea if I ovulate on my own at all. I have to temp chart for the next 3 months to see if there's anything happening, and I'm hoping that my body will sort itself out, and that being off the pill won't let teh endo go too crazy. I'm only in stage one, so hopefully it won't be too bad.If not, another lap surgery followed by a round of Clomid will be the next step. At the same time, I don't want to try right now before I'm settled somewhere, in case it works right away!

I am also overweight, and I am also concerened about what that will mean for trying as well. I just started a weight loss/excersise program yesterday, (although maybe combining the first day of both wasn't my best idea ever!!) But my eating/moods/hormones are all very intwined, and I'm hoping being off the pill isn't going to be too bad. I haven't been off it for more than 8 weeks in ten years. I HEART my b/c as it keeps the pain away. I have had small intermissions of being off...8 weeks here, 8 weeks there to see if I got a period on my own (at the end of a month of no pills) but it never happened. I have a tendanccy to go down a little fast when I go off, but I'm really hoping that doing all this with a very specific goal in mind will be really helpful.

I think I'm done now And thank you..to anyone who happens to read this, for listening because I can't talk to any of my friends or family about it...I don't want to face the are you pregnant yet? everytime I see someone :S I don't want people to know we'll be trying, I saw what happened with my cousin going thru that, and it's not that people mean to be hurtful, they just don't get it. I am planning to not tell people when I am pregnant until I'm 4 months, as the endo gives me a 50% higher m/c rate.

Now I'm off for tea and my healthy portion controlled breakfast!!!

I have/had endo, had 3 kids the old fashioned way (do have to say that "I feel your pain" though.... ). Good luck with getting pregnant, hope it all happens just like you hope it will.
