Default All I want to do is sleep....

and sleep and sleep and sleep. And that's exactly what I did this afternoon. I think I "napped" for about 3 hours while Paige played. She layed down with me for a little while and then left to go color.

It's only normal to want to sleep when you are pregnant. Your body is working overtime! I slepted through the first three months of each of my pregnancies and at the end. Don't feel guilty at all.

As a matter of fact...that is the only time I got any sleep! lol

With Paige I slept alot when I first got pregnant (of course I wasn't working yet either.) I never had morning sickness, but I remember we had a lot of rain that summer when I first got pregnant from all the hurricanes and that made me want to sleep even more. Now I get up at 6:30 work from 8-4 and come home. I usually only nap after work on the day's that Joe is at work too. On the other 2 evenings we watch a movie together and Paige and I will snuggle on the sofa and try to stay awake.

Last Sunday I took a 3 hour nap and couldn't get to sleep that night so I'm trying to remember to set an alarm so I can still sleep at night.

This one's ETA is March 10th, exactly one month after Paige turns 4.

    I didn't know you are expecting...congratulations

I slept a ton during my second pregnancy. It was more tiring than my first, and I was working during my first. Though as my family points out, I had a 2 yr old running around during my 2nd

Sleep as much as you want/need right now. Once the baby is here, you won't be able to sleep anymore or 3 straight hours will be the longest.

I didn't know you were expecting, either... congrats!

And I agree with the others, your body is working overtime, so napping is natural.

I remember with my first pregnancy, that's all I wanted to do. I'd nap during lunch and I worked from 7 to 5. I'd spend most of my first trimester in the women's bathroom in my shop (I was in the Marines at the time) either being sick or hiding in the corner and taking a nap. I think the guys totally understood and the girls did too. Finally towards the end of my pregnancy, they let me out early. What did I do? I napped! My second pregnancy was harder because DS always needed some sort of attention. I'd pop on some cartoons, lock the front door and let him play away while I took a nap. My DS #1 was also four when I was pregnant so I know how things go. Enjoy your naps.

I know how you feel! I wake up after sleeping for 8 hours and then two hours later I'm tired again! I'm only 18 weeks, so I've got a long way to go. I remember with my first pregnancy that around about 7 months I started getting my energy back and I was feeling great. At 8 months I ended up working a part time job up until my due date. DS was 12 days late, and I was out and about until the minute I went into labor.

    Congrats on the pregnancy!
With my first 2 boys, I was always on the go mostly cause i waited tables & worked fast food... amazingly i was never tired.
But with this 3rd pregnancy, all i want to do is sleep. I guess i'm alot less active in general now, sitting in a desk all day instead of on my feet, but when i get home i'm too tired to run around & do errands or do active things with my boys. DH frequently pulls a twin mattress into the living room on fridays right before i get home- when he leaves for work i pull it in front of the front door (so the 3 year can't get out the door) and nap for a few hours while the boys watch a movie or play video games. I felt bad about it at first... but DH keeps reminding me if i need to sleep, I need to sleep... and my kids are being so sweet about it & trying to actually be quiet when i'm napping.
Good wishes for your pregnancy & remember to listen to your body- it knows better than your head what you really need.
