To find out or not to find out
With the last four, we didn't find out what we were having before they were born. It was a lot fun guessing and waiting and "taking bets"
and then being surprised when we heard, "it's a ..."
HOWEVER, this time I really, really want to know if it's double pink or double blue or if we can rule out them being identical.
So what did you do? Did you find out at the "big" sonogram? Or did you wait?

We waited until dd was born.
On 11-22-85 I married the man of my dreams.
On 01-13-89 I gave birth to the love of my life.

We always found out, and I don't think it diminished the experience at all. Seeing what they looked like, how big they were, whose little nose they had... it was a big enough surprise without the added bonus of first finding out the gender.

I'm 15 weeks right now and I can wait to find out. I think it is still a surprise when you find out, even if it is before the baby is born. plus I want to be prepared. I also want to save my friends the trouble of trying to find neutral baby gifts.
There is nothing like walking up to a new mom and wanting to compliment the baby and having no idea if it is a boy or a girl. When we find out we will be prepared with plenty of pinks or blues.

We found out with both boys. I had enough to think about and obssess over, I don't think I could have handled not knowing the gender!

I always wanted to find out.... so you know the sex, but you dont know their features, their eyes, their face.... that's what brings the joy

I didn't find out with my DS, I did with my DD and I gave in and found out with the baby. I wasn't going to find out with this baby - but my DH will not be home for the birth and he really wanted to know. I think if he was going to be home it would be different. With twins - it might be easier on you - clothing, gear, names, and the rest of the family to find out. GL either way!

Congratulations!!!

When I was pregnant with my youngest we didn't know exactly when it happened so they couldn't give me an exact due date. When the day came they picked out nothing happened so they decided to do an ultrasound. Well, I decided to find out if it was a boy or girl.
I was so excited I was going to find out boy or girl, what it looked like, etc.
well, THE MACHINE WAS BROKE!!!!!
Talk about dissapointment.
Oh well, 22 years ago next month.
He was a boy almost 23yo now.Last edited by katholc; 09-18-2008 at 11:40 AM. Reason: add

Staying home doing nothing is a lot more fun if you don't have to do it.

Congratulations on the boys! We found out with all four of our children and we were still in awe when the child was born.
