I might be visiting my mom this summer and I'm having some issues with vehicles. I have 3 kids. My 5 year old is still small enough for a 5 point harness. My 7 year old is still in a booster. I also have a 10 month old baby that's still in a punkin seat. (graco snugride.) I asked around about car seats and I got an answer from the experts about how to fit 3 car seats into the back of one car. I thought I would pass it along in case anyone else is interested. Can you believe I went out and bought a minivan rather than asking around about fitting 3 in the car? Crazy.

Even if I don't visit my mom and end up having to drive around in her car for a month I'll still be buying a skinny car seat just in case some future circumstance requires me to put all three kids in the back of one car.

If your baby is born at more than 5 pounds you can buy either one to start and just skip the car seat + base system if you don't mind doing without it.

Sunshine kids radian 80. 'bout $250 (still cheaper than buying a new car.)

The radian is actually good from 5-80 pounds so if you buy it you may not actually need to buy another carseat or booster again. That makes the 250 a pretty frugal option in the long run.

Cheaper option- this one is about $90 and can be found at kmart and sears.

This one goes from 5 to 40 pounds.

Hope this helps someone.
