how soon?
ok, so hubby and i want to have a baby. we did the deed on 6/21. i noticed sat 6/25 when i had the day off work- i am normally up by 6am even when off. but saturday i didn't wake up till about 20 min to 7(which made me mad at myself as i use a controller med for my asthma at 6am and 6pm daily)
I also noticed saturday that i had no energy and no appetite, but i wasn't feeling sick. - i literally had to make myself eat breakfast and make myself eat dinner. was having problems with gas too and burped stomach acid a couple times
my appetite was back yesterday. while at work yesterday i had some cramping and the last 3 days my nipples have been sore. i am also bloated.
could i be preggo? or is it to soon to tell. my period is due July 9th/10th. how soon could i test?
or is it simply a case of my mind playing tricks on me. i am trying to keep busy and not think about it cause i don't wanna stress myself out by worrying and screw my cycle up that way.
any help you can give would be awesome.Last edited by nkotbjrkgirl; 06-27-2011 at 01:17 PM. Reason: added to post

~I noticed feelings of achiness and fatigue right away during my pregnancies. I also had digestive changes in the two week wait. You can't imagine those!
Most women can get a positive pregnancy test at 10 days post ovulation. That's usually only a few days before a period is due. You could be one of the lucky ones that shows up at 8 days post ovulation though. You could also be one of the unlucky ones that takes until 14 days post ovulation for anything to show up.
If I were you I'd start testing on July 4th. You have a good chance of a positive showing up then and it'd be a memorable day to get such news.

it's hard to tell since you don't know your ovulation date. If you're like me and a pee on a stick-aholic, I'd buy some internet cheapie test strips so you won't feel too bad about using a ton

The problem with pregnancy symptoms is a lot of them are the same as AF symptoms. Those tricked me a lot
I hope you post again soon with some good news!Wife to Air Force DH for 7 years.

It's possible, but I think it's really easy to imagine everything is a possible pregnancy symptom. And we're currently TTC too, so I am totally guilty of this myself. Every little thing that happens - appetite, smells, aches, tiredness - I could be pregnant!
Actually, this month I took a test on day 27 (my cycles are between 27 and 30 days) and it was negative. I still haven't started, and tomorrow is day 31, so I'm going to take another one tomorrow. Depending on how much money you want to spent on tests, I would test on July 8th if I were in your shoes.Loving wife to DH (8/31/03) and Mommy to Owen Alexander (9/20/06) and Oliver Andrew (5/25/12)

I knew inwas pregnant at least 4 days before my monthly visit. I would know because my breasts would be so sore while having a shower in the morning. I never needed to check... That was my test!

Good luck!

thanks for the advice ladies. the bloating seems to be gone, but the last few days i have been eating like crazy. my lunch yesterday consisted of 2 peanut butter sandwiches, a big grab bag of potato chips and an ice cream sandwich. oddly enough after eating all that i was still hungry LOL!!
for dinner i had fish sticks and a generous portion of rice-- less than an hour later i had an ice cream sandwich.
had a bowl of cereal for breakfast this am like maybe an hour ago and was thinking of having another one as i am still hungry.
planning on testing july 8th. is it true you shouldn't tell anyone till you are through your first trimester? heard that somewhere.Change jar challenge: $4.99...mostly pennies $4 cash

The risk of miscarriage is less by the end of the first trimester. That's why people wait to tell. We did with both of ours. I know too many people who told at 6 or 7 weeks and then had to explain the miscarriage. Those are hard enough without having to rehash it to every person you had told already

I can psych myself into all pregnancy symptoms, try to hang in there and keep busy doing other things. You can do visualization of course but I'm just saying try not to get tooooo wrapped up in hopes because the body can do a lot of things for no reason.
Anytime I have a "pregnancy scare" in which I don't want to be pregnant I can pysch myself into the sore breasts, bloated, nausea, etc. and I swear I'm pregnant, my body is in full-force, but if I stay busy those will go away and the body shuts up.
The mind is a very powerful thing. Positive things you can do is to eat well so if you are pregnant you don't put on a ton of non-baby weight. Walk, walk, walk. Both of those things will help you be healthy and being healthy helps with getting pregnant.
I also agree with not telling anyone except the absolute closest of family until you are past the 3 months. We recently had a coworker lose a baby in the first 2 months and I felt so bad for them, to have to tell everyone on both sides of family, coworkers, etc. The first 3 months just seem to be shaky with pregnancies. Your family it is ok to tell if they will be loving and supportive if you lose it, if they're just going to try and tell you how it was your fault then don't even tell them. (grin, we all know some families aren't perfect and don't handle things well sometimes.)
Hugs, I am very happy for you!LDR

Well, mine was a big "No" this month, but I'm sending baby dust your way. We didn't tell anyone outside of future grandparents for the first 12 weeks, just in case. I'm going to do the same thing with #2. Same reason, your chances of miscarraige are higher in the first trimester.

I knew within days of the second child, not the first. My docote laughed at me because I called him after 5 days into it. THe laugh way on him...I was right!
I agree about not telling except for family...chances are that all will be fine..but hard to have to explain it to everyone if things are not fine.
Keep us posted.
