When I first started going to the first OB's office when I first got pregnant I was given a rundown on what my payments would be a month with my insurance coverage. Then when we moved and got our bill from them we were charged for EVERYTHING!!!!
We figured at first it was because neither one of us had used the insurance yet this year so of course we were going to pay in the deductible and the percentage that wasn't covered. WRONG We got a note saying that our insurance coverage was on hold because we failed to fill out a form that the insurance co sent us.....We never got a form.
Then there was my ER visit from Sept. We got a bill for that saying that nothing was paid on it and we owed the whole amount.
Well DH called the insurance co. since it is in his name thru his work and they said the reason they hadn't paid anything was they were waiting to see if I had additional insurance myself (eventhough we said no when we first went to the Dr.)
After being on the phone with them for what seemed like day's they said they would re-file all the claims starting with my first visit in June.
Fast forward to Saturday we get 3 things in the mail from the hospital, one note said the ID # for the insurance was wrong and to contact them regaurding the ER visit in Sept, the second said that insurance had been approved for the ER visit and we only owed $80 of the $340 visit a third was from my glucose testing saying it had been filed and they would contact us with the balance due.
Well today we got another bill in the mail (also for the ER visit) sayind BCBS has paid x amount and we now only owe $55.
I tell you it has been a pain dealing with them the last few months, but it looks like things are FINALLY getting in order. And it only took 6 months.....lol

Yes, it has been a pain. Joe said he was talking about it with another one of his managers today and he said that he had a lot of problems himself last year with them. He said it is almost like they put everything on hold as long as they can to wait and see if you get another insurance to kick in so they don't have to pay as much. I haven't checked the mail yet today to see if we've gotten anything else from them (the hospital the Dr. or the insurance co.) maybe I just won't check it or at least not open any thing until payday this Friday..lol
Kat, that's crazy talk. (one of my fav sayings)
Hope it's all straightend out and the bills stop coming.

Whew! What a relief to have it lined out! Not a moment too soon either, eh?

Maybe by the time the baby is delivered, it will be completely worked out. UGH! I am sorry you were having to deal with that. I hope it is all finally working itself out.
