Do you have a baby bonus in america and canada? Here every new mother is given $3000 upon the birth of each baby. I wonder if it's the same over there.
I wish there was a baby bonus if there was when I had the triplets I would have hit the jackpot!!!!! Imagine $3000 per child that means I would have gotten $9000 that would have made life easier....
Here in Canada those with a yearly income of less than a fixed amount (not sure what it is) get a Child Tax Credit that is payed out every month. Over the fixed amount you get a percentage on a sliding scale until the amount is $ 0.
It is based on each child and then you get extra if you have more than two kids.
I also believe that Quebec pays you a specific amount for each baby, just as in Australia.
The Child Tax benefit Chriss is talking about is also finished once the child turns 17. It use to be called the family allowance but changed a number of years ago to the Child Tax Benefit.
Hey we do get a tax credit every year for each kid, what is it now? It might be 1500 per kid, that is what I am remembering but don't bank on my memory
nope. not here. however they credit a certian portion of our taxes for each child. not sure how much it is. Nothing like the amounts you referred to though
we get tax allowances for each child too, as well as a family allowance for each child which is paid fortnightly to those under a certain income.
The baby bonus is paid regardless of income. It's to encourage women to have babies. Currently we aren't producing enough babies to replace the people who die.

It's 1,000 per child until the year that the child turns 17. However, it is phased out based on income.
