MeShun Renee made her debut
I went to see my ob on Friday and he did a cervical exam. After examining me we discussed induction and said that it would be up to my perinatalogist who I was to see on Monday. He also stated that my cervix was nice and firm so i wasnt due to deliver any time soon. Well hubby and I decide to take kids to visit my mom who lives 3 hours away. We leave Youngstown and get to Toledo about 2 pm. Im kinda tired but feeling ok. Well its rainy so our plans to visit beach have been postponed. We just kinda veg at the house and about 10 pm I have what appears to be a "serious" contraction. I had been having braxton hicks all week. But this different. The contractions were about 10 minutes apart when I told my mom. My mom had this look of horrified disbelief on her face. Are you serious she4 asks me...I say yep. My hubby had a couple of beers with my step dad and was already asleep. I sent my eldest in there to wake him up. It wasn't easy! Finally my mom, hubby and I are in car headed for the nearest hospital. Which since I am 175 miles from home has never seen me before. We get there and I tell the triage nurse that contractions are 5-7 min apart and this is baby #8. They begin rushing me to L&D. We get up there and there is no doctor and midwife is on her way. Its now after midnite. The nurse does manage to get my dr on the phone and is having him fax my records. She also got him to fax orders so I could have antibiotic in my iv and something for pain. I was not doing so well with these contractions. The neubaine(sp) works for a while but ctx are getting stronger and I am starting to feel pressure. The nurse tells me not to push because the midwife still hasn't gotten there. I say I don't know if i can hold out...I say I need to move my leg. I then bend my knee and MeShun slid ALL THE WAY OUT. I didn't even push once. The nurse put her inside my gown and began cleaning me up....The midwife finally made and with help of my husband MeShun's umbilical cord was cut. And thats how our baby girl was introduced to the world.

Wow! Seems like everyone I hear from hardly pushes at all. Me, I push for 4+ hours. LOL.
But what a great thing for you- sounds like it was quick and you really didn't have any problems. That is great! I love the picture- she is gorgeous!

Congratulations!
It must have something to do with Flower Hospital in Sylvania, OH. I had both of my children there. The second baby came within 1 hour and 20 minutes from the time I walked through their doors. The first baby was in 3 hours.
Best wishes to you and your family.
