Jacob Michael is here!
Howdy everyone.
This is Cheryl (Labontet), Daphne's mom.
Yesterday, July 22nd, Daphne and Malcom became parents to Jacob Michael. He was 7lbs 8 oz and 19 3/4" long. He and mama are doing very well. Daddy is too.
Me, I am so happy. Just think, I have 2 grandsons now and should never have trouble keeping up with their birthdays. Isaiah and Jacob have the SAME birthday! Isn't that just to cool?
I got here yesterday morning around 10:30 and thought that I would have easily missed seeing him being born. She came in to the hospital Thursday evening around 10:00 pm. He was born yesterday at 5:05 in the afternoon. Long labor to say the least. Daphne was even asking to have a C-section if necessary. Her words "Just get him out" She had a midwife helping her, but later in the delivery process, Jacob's heart rate was going down to a level she did not like, so she called in the doctor on call and he used forceps to get the baby out.
Everyone is doing good now, she should be getting out of the hospital tomorrow afternoon. Boy is she ready to get out of there and get back to her home.
I will be here with her for all of this next week to help when needed, and will be going back to Florida on Saturday.
I am sure Daphne will be getting on the boards in the next few days and will fill you in.
Talk at you all later. Bye.

Yay! Malcolm sure knows how to call the date!
Sorry to hear Daphne had such a long labor and needed to have forceps used, but I'm glad about the outcome! Can't wait to see the little guy- glad everyone is well.

Give her, Malcom and the newest village baby our best. I'm sure she can't wait to gte out of the hospital....those were the longest 2 day's of my life. At least he is here, I'm just sorry that her labor was so long.
Can't wait to see pictures. I bet he is a beautiful little boy.

I am usually on the boards everyday, but for a while now I have mainly been lurking instead of posting. (I know, bad of me!) But anyway, it's nice to have everyones posts. I know Daphne will love knowing that you all care so much.
Hey Beckie, I am glad to see you here.
