Did you have any baby showers given for you?
I did with our first born. When our oldest dd was on her way, I was invited to a baby shower for a friend who had a boy. When I got to the shower, there were baby gifts wrapped in blue and in pink. I didn't have a clue why until they started opening up the shower gifts and handed me the pink ones. I was totally shocked. A very nice surprise though.

I had two showers when I had my oldest (very grateful for the gifts too, and we were past poor).
None for the other two kids, but I got a few gifts with each of them.

no, I don't like showers. I didn't have an engagement party or a "proper" wedding either. When all our big events happen, we invite friends and family over and celebrate but I never wanted anyone to bring gifts.

Nope, my mother wasn't so inclined to do one they way she had done my sister.
And at the time, I worked with all men...the poor things they were uncomfortable enough with it so I neither expected nor got one.
With Logan, also none.

Our church gave us one for Isabel and my family gave us one with Isabel. No showers at all when Ingrid was born. Where I grew up in TN it was customary to have a shower (they loved a party!) with every baby so I was a little surprised there wasn't one with Ingrid. It's not that we needed clothes or anything, I'm just used to using any excuse for a ladies' get together

I was given a shower for my first child, but back then it wasn't customary to have one for subsequent children of the same gender.

My best friends from childhood threw me one when I was pregnant with Julia. My school also threw me one when I was pregnant with Julia.
Nothing with Patrick, as I expected. I'm certainly not expecting one for #3, either.
Funny, though. Rob's work threw him a shower for each of the babies. He was so embarrassed. Extremely grateful, but he hates a fuss.

With Adam I had one. My mom threw it for me. With Corey I had a surprise baby shower thrown by one of my co-workers at the time. I thought I was just going over to her house so she could photograph Corey. But then...SURPRISE!!
