Question Was your dh/so with you during the birth of your children?

We weren't allowed to have the fathers with us. Something they definitely missed. How I wish my dh could have been with me.

Oh geez....my girls' dad was down the hall having a pity party while I was in labor...his mommy was comforting him. Thank God my mom was there with me. She's the one who insisted on finally getting a Dr. in there and convincing them there was something wrong (emergency c-section)

Yep, both times. He cried, but said it was pretty gross. I didn't cry, too tired, too much drugs they foisted on me. The hospital I had both kids at was very much against a drug free birth.

I have had 2 c-sections, both under general anesthesia. For ds1, dh was present in the room when he was born. For ds2, they did not allow dh into the room until after he had been born.

Yep. The first was an emergency c-section and because the anesthesia had worn off and I was screaming that I could feel them cutting me open, by the time he got there, I was wide open and he got to see my liver, etc. Said it was pretty cool.

With Patrick, he was there the whole c-section and didn't get quite the same view he did the first time.

This time, he'll be there as well.

Dh was with me until the last minute when they made him go out as ds had to be delivered using foreceps. He only saw the top of his head! These days they wouldn't even think of kicking him out! It is one our big regrets that he wasn't allowed to stay until the end.
