With my first pregnancy, I wore tent shirts or dresses or whatever they were called. But now, they don't seem to make them anymore.
I hate these clothes. I hate 'em, I hate 'em I hate 'em!!!
I bought my current maternity clothes at yard sales and bought a few new things at JC Penney's for work wear. Well, JCP is a ripoff because the XL that I bought doesn't fit me now and I have two months to go. They didn't even sell anything above XL!!!
(BTW: I'm 5'9" and weigh 195; before I got pregnant, fifty pounds ago, I wore a size 9)
Anyway, they make shirts nowadays to show off your stomach. I don't want to show mine off. It's huge. I want to hide under a moo moo. I asked my boss if I could come to work in a moo moo if I gain anymore weight. He said "If that's what you have to do." He has a dry sense of humor.
So I believe maternity clothes should have a new style, not this style of belly showing, tightly dressed garbage. I want to be comfortable.
I'm going to start a coalition against this...

i couldn't find hardly anything, my mother ended up making most of my stuff. my belly was so huge, at 3 months people were already asking me if i was due pretty soon. they actually thought i was big enough to be carrying triplets. nope, just one huge one.

Some of the girls in my town are very frugal about maternity clothes, they just go around wearing their regular jeans, unzipped, with their pregnant belly sticking out. It's really kinda obscene looking, but at least it saves them money

I can relate to all of this...its difficult enough to find decent looking clothing when I'm not pregnant.lol....I'm 5'9 & also wear anywhere from 4-6..I got so fed up with all of these weird & ugly styles that I sewed my own dresses. I was able to add length to the bottom of the dresses to suit my taste(I prefer nearly ankle length). Right now, we're expecting baby #10 and my maternity wardrobe consists of 2 everyday dresses, 2 nicer dresses (for church, etc.)regular sized underthings(no special maternity stuff). When I get into my last month, I'll swipe a pair of dh's jeans. hehe.

I was pretty lucky and I never had to actually wear maternity clothes while I was pregnant. I think it was a combo of my 4 months of constant morning sickness and the fact that I'm only 4'10, but I didn't gain more than 22 lbs.
I continued wearing my normal clothes until I was about 5 months pregnant, then I went up to a size 2 jeans. I continued wearing those until the last month I was pregnant and then I just wore my exercise/track pants. Something I did, I still wore all my normal tops sweaters and everything, I would just wear a long cami under it so that it didn't show my tummy.
Also, Old Navy has some cute maternity clothes on their website and they are very reasonably priced.McD

I agree! I'mfinding that a lot of the maternity shirts are still way too short!
its cute if you don't have any stretch marks and can get away with the exposure but if you can't......eek!
We have thyme maternity herre....which is ok but still way too $$$.
I am also peeved that most of the pants these days are the elastic all the way around, good for the skin and bones and belly but those with the hips and waist and belly....ugh...I felt like I was constantly hiking it up. and the under the belly is bad too.....
I've resorted to making some of my own, and unfortunately since this pregnancy is completely unexpected I had given my old comfy stuff away....
