    Talking ultrasound today

    We had the 21 week ultrasound today, and everything was "there and accounted for" as the tech told us. I had asked if everything looked normal to her, and she said the best thing she's allowed to tell us was that everything was there-- meaning all the internal organs, heartbeat, etc.

    The baby weighs 14oz, which is only a few ounces less than it should at this stage. Based on the other measurements, the tech said I was measuring within a day or two of my due date. I was really happy to hear that, since I still have only lost weight (13lbs so far) and not gained any due to my hyperemesis.

    And the big news.... it's a boy! I have known/felt all along in my heart that it was, but DH didn't really believe me until the ultrasound confirmed it. We would have been very happy with a girl, too, but since this is probably going to have to be our last one (due to the hyperemesis and other complications) we're really happy that it's a boy- now we'll have one of each. There was no question, either-- the anatomy was quite clear on the pictures.

    It's a happy day at my house!

    I'm so surprised! Hyperemesis generally comes with the female hormones.
