Ack, nine weeks to go!
Wow, suddenly it's hit me that I'm having a baby in nine weeks!
I know, I know, this isn't exactly breaking news... but you have no idea how much we have to do in the next nine weeks.
I'm not usually one for leaving things at the last minute, but, I haven't had much choice this time.
I spent the first 20 weeks or so of this pregnancy being sick as a dog, on bedrest, and dealing with several complications. Then, once I started feeling better, we've had some other things come up... regular life stuff (sick relatives, lots of overtime at work, etc)... and we just haven't had a chance to do much of anything to get ready for this baby. To further complicate things, DH has been working nights, and that means that I can't do most of this during the day when he's sleeping- it would wake him up. We only have one day of the week when we're both off of work.
So, here I am, nine weeks away from delivery (scheduled c-section at 38 weeks) and I have a mile-long to-do list! I have to move all the boxes out of the baby's room, move the baby furniture out of DD's room and into the baby's room, rearrange the basement storage area to make room for the boxes, buy some new crib sheets, go through DD's baby clothes to see what unisex items we have, buy more boy clothes........ and the list goes on and on. Ideally, I'd like to put up the wallpaper border and decorate the baby's room, too, but if need be, that can wait until after he arrives.
Whew!

"Baby" steps Amy! Whew I got tired reading that list.

I'm so happy for you & your family, I bet your dd is just hugging your belly and can't wait for her little brother. Such a wonderful time, enjoy, and hope the warm weather doesn't bother you too much. You take good care!~*Darlene*~

Time is flying by so fast. Try to enjoy this time alone with your dd. As long as you have the bed set up and the diapers and clothing ready, that's really all you have to do. Hope things do calm down for you all soon so you can be rested when the time comes. Hugs, Carolyn

Time has flown by!! It won't be long now. I like the idea of making that long list of things break down into smaller lists.

Nine weeks will come quick but you don't want the baby to arrive sooner because you are stressed. Make time to rest and enjoy your DD. Maybe you can do a little each day and have her help you pick out new things for the baby. The baby won't mind if the house is a bit unsettled. As long as you have diapers and a few basics you can add things as you need after he comes. I bet you will get lots of things you need for baby gifts too.

Amy - I'm sure I'll feel the same way. Sometimes I still can't believe that I'm going to be responsible for another human being in 4 months or so.

I can not believe that it is almost time already for your little one to come....I got tired just reading the post....
Just breathe, breathe, breathe....it will all get done in time. And if it doesn't, once that sweet baby is in your arms....not of it will matter anyway.... take care of yourself....

I can't believe your little one will be here in only nine more weeks. It sure went fast.
Try to take things one day at a time. Don't overdo it.~*Michelle*~

Thanks for all the encouragement.

I did a little shopping the other day... the baby won't be naked or diaperless now.
And DH has lined up a friend to come over and help move all the boxes out of the baby's room, which will be a big help. Little by little, we're getting things done.
My DD was born at 33 weeks... so I think it's always in the back of my mind that this one could come early, too. But, I'm on weekly shots to prevent pre-term labor, so hopefully they'll continue to work.
I'm calmer now than I was when I started this thread.
