Trying to not worry....
I had a routine visit with my doctor today. I am 31 1/2 weeks along at this point. I've had high blood pressure throughout my pregnancy and today it was 158/92. My doctor was looking at the numbers over the past months and told me that he is expecting my blood pressure to get higher and possibly become toxemia. I was given a shot of Betamethasone today and have another one lined up for tomorrow. He wants to make sure that if he has to take the baby before 37 weeks, this will help her lungs be more developed and she'll have less of a chance of needing breathing assistance.
I knew my blood pressure wouldn't go down and was preparing to hear that I would have to go on bed rest or medication, but I wasn't ready to hear that she could be coming within the next month. I won't really know anything until the 22nd when the doctor will see me again, but he pretty much told me he wouldn't let me carry her to 40 weeks. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that my blood pressure will stay down long enough so I can carry her to at least 36 weeks....

Hoping and praying everything goes well for you and the baby. I know it's scary, but you seem to have a doctor that is thinking ahead and that sounds good.

Hugs. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I don't know if this will help any but I had the same problem with DD and was put on bed rest and medication at about 5 months. A few times they thought they were going to have to deliver very early so I was also given shots to speed lung development. Through loads of monitoring and few times in the hospital over night I was able to make it to term. Its scary and stressful, and I hope that things improve for you and that you and your baby are ok.
