Baby's gender?
Just curious how many of you all waited and left your baby's gender to be a surprise?
Since we just had a baby last year, there is no reason to run out and buy things so I haven't had the desire to find out. Besides, my husband deperately wants a boy and the suspense kills him....lol...

~I didn't want to find out with the either pregnancy but DH did. So we found out the gender of the first but not the second. I LOVED being surprised! Of course I wanted a girl badly and being surprised with Evie was just great. The best part of not knowing was telling people who asked that we didn't know. It really not common to be surprised anymore.~

With my second son who is 21 and with my daughter who is 20 I chose to find out what the sex was but believe me it was a surprise...because on both babies they were wrong
. It was a shock in delivery both times when my OB told me the sex, I planned my nurseries and layettes around the sex that the sono tech told me and spent lots of time taking items back and exchanging. I always go with neutral colors for baby gifts now, I learned from my experience, LOL.

I had a midwife so I didn't find out, but I didn't want to know either. I wanted it to be a surprise.

dating myself here, but they didn't have/do ultrasounds when I was pregnant with our 1st 2. Had a midwife with all 3, so it was a surpise for us.

We tried to find out with DD, but it wasn't until the 4th ultrasound (all medically needed, none of those "for show" ones they do now) that they were able to tell. And, that turned out to be only a week before she was born because she was seven weeks early.
With DS, we found out with the first ultrasound.
And for the record... I had a gut feeling both times as to the sexes, and I was right both times.
When we went to get the ultrasound for DS, I told DH in the parking lot that I was just sure he was a boy, and when the tech confirmed it, we both laughed & then had to explain it to her.

We wanted to know with our first one but with the second we wanted to wait. However DS had other plans. When my ob/gyn scanned over the area DS had his legs spread wide open and you just couldn't miss it. Doc tried to move off of the area real fast and then told us it was a thumb. We just laughed at him and told him we could tell we had a not-so-modest son on the way.
Long story short, we found out both times.DD (19)

I did not want to know for either of my pregnancies. But any day now I am going to be a proud Grandma to a bouncing baby boy. It's so exciting either way.

I'm not patient either. With my first I never had any ultrasounds...
but I knjew he was a boy. With our dd (11 mths) I knew it was a girl but DH and ds wanted a boy.. I was right!!! With the one that's due in NOvember I was like 95% sure it was a boy. And I was right again.. I'm on a roll... lol.. No more babies though.. last one.

I waited, and all the "guessers" were wrong! I think the technology has improved in the last 20 years, but it was pretty unreliable when I was PG.
