Post I haven't been on in awhile...

So much has been going on in the last couple of months...I was laid off in Jan(though they are paying for school which will start in sept-and I'll draw unemployment at the same time). My mom has been sick the last couple of months...starting out as nothing to major and being treated for it. Well she took a turn for the worse at the end of March, had a heart attack and three mini strokes. We never found out how they were going to effect her. Her heart ended up stopping completely and she finally passed on April 7th....to top it off I just found out that it has been confirmed as of this past Thurs that I am 6-8 weeks pregnant. I'm exited and nervous ...so much going on at once and my mom won't be here(and my dad passed 4 yrs ago next month). She had been wanting a grandbaby for so long...my fiance had been planning to start trying after we were married. Well obv fate had other plans. I had got to tell her before she passed-though she had been unconscious at the time(I had taken 2 home tests when I thought it might be a possibility-both came out positive). I'll try to get on more often but of course I've been mostly tired and nauseous this last month or so(oh yes I thought I had what everyone else had...lol-I had the same symptoms as everyone else in my fam and friends though I'm very rarely actually sick-but then again I don't tend to get very sick often).

Welcome back! I am sorry to hear about your Mom - mine has also been having issues as well. I so feel your pain - I am due in the 8th of DEC and I feel like do-do much of the time as well! I have been taking vitamin B6 and it helps with my nausea and then I will make up a drink called Morning Sickness Magic - you can buy it in the stores I think. I am keeping my fingers crossed and just trying to get through the first trimester (previous miscarriage history). When you start buying baby gear - just keep in mind that so much stuff can be second hand; babies are not hard on stuff the way toddlers are. Best Wishes!

The good news is I have plenty of fam and friends helping and there if I need to talk or anything...about my mom or about my pregnancy. My fiance is very supportive and there if I need to talk or just be held. I haven't even started to buy anything yet. I know my aunt is saying she'll help out a ton and has already started to get neutral stuff(she is a thrift store, garage sale and ebay-a-holic). I'm still in the I'm tired and nauseous phase so I don't feel like doing much. It's supposed to pass soon and I then might start to maybe make a few items. I do basic sewing so I may make a quilt or two and some funky bibs. It'll also give me something to do since I won't start school til sept. It's frustrating I'm not working or in school yet, but at the same time I can rest when I need to. I've been taking a prenatal vit since I took my tests and the doc said they were fine-it was the kind she took when she was preg. I find making sure I eat little meals often helps. And I don't get as nauseous(I think it was worse the last 2 weeks cause I was going through the stress of mom on top of preg). Mostly I'm just tired and that comes and goes...well except that they did draw 5 vials thurs and all I wanted to do thurs and fri was sleep...lol. I've noticed I've started to change a bit, but it's supposed to be mostly hormones and water right now. When I start getting my fiance(and friends and fam) to take pics(I tried it is way to hard to take your own) then I'll try to rem to post them.

dianne9106---> this is my first preg ever but yep we are in the same timing that is for sure...as of right now my due date is Dec 12...will be able to pin point better when I have my first US....keep you in my thoughts that yours go smooth.

Aaawww I'm sorry to hear the sad news about your mom. I lost my dmom a little over a year ago so I can completely related to how you're feeling. Hang in there, it gets a little easier everyday. (Some days you may not be able to tell it though)

What a bittersweet time for you Try to concentrate on the peace that your mom now has and that will help you to be able to get your joy and smile back and enjoy your pregnancy. (Noone enjoys morning sickness though...... )

I'm sorry to hear about your Mom, Amelia. She'll be with you always and as you become a Mom, know she'd be so proud.
Remember the good stuff, smile & pass those stories on.
