lol now I know why every time it snow all the stores run out of milk and bread. Funny how people panic at themention of the word storm.

We got the storm here. Not that bad. Had to drive home form work in it at 10 pm last night.

To answer the question... TP. That would be unpleasant.

So far I have not found a storm to be a major worry. Even the time we had no power for a week it was not unbearable and I was not thinking to my self I should have bought more bread and milk.

If power loss is an issue I'd want my fridge to not be too full of pe4rishable items. Dry and canned goods and water would be more of a priority.

4 basic categories that i think of :
heat...kerosene heaters, woodstoves, extra warm clothes
    water...for drinking & washing
lights...oil lamps, candles, matches, batteries, flashlights
    food.
..dried, boxed & canned are good ideas

charged cell phone too, gas in the car

& i'm glad that someone said coffee
we use a coffee maker & though we might have a supply of coffee would have no way to make it...instant or one of those camp coffee pots might work on the woodstove

i feel for the people with no power because of the ice/snow tonight
that also have no heat...hope it a short term problem

water to flush the toilet! I'd rather not run out of electricity other than that, I don't care too much.

A book and a flashlight, with enough batteries to last a long time. Maybe two or three books!
Our motorhome has a generator and the diesel tank is full, so we'd move into it for the duration.

I made several pots of coffee and stored them in the fridge and freezer before the storm hit. They reheated nicely and hit the spot.

I have power now, but many of my neighbors do not. Current estimates are that it could be weeks before they restore power to everyone and at least a couple more days before most get power back.
