I thought I would bump this thread up because it is time to stockup, check your supplies, etc. for hurricane season. There was a show on one of the local TV stations today with a local weatherman, the county judge, someone from the Red Cross, people hawking new hurricane supplies, etc.
All I have to do is check my batteries, buy some more bottled water (used up what I bought last year), and start buying 5 extra gallons of gas every time we fill up hubby's truck and add stabilizer to it for the generator. Hubby is having the generator serviced.
I LOVE my stockpile and my generator!Mary

Few things we need to stock up on also. Batteries especially, can always use more water. Will need to get more canned meats.
Seems like I can never keep these stocked. Just filled up our propane tank, at least I can cook if we lose power. Need to make sure my kiddos all have colors, books and things to keep them busy especially if we have to evacuated. Been lucky the
last couple of years, praying the luck continues. During Rita we had to stay away for 2 weeks, we have a foster home and once it becomes mandatory, we have to leave and couldn't come back til we had power. Lost everything in the freezer, and oh the smell. So getting closer to hurricane season, I pull way back on stocking up the freezer and concentrate more on pantry.Jan
