Falling behind in preps
Does anybody else find it hard to keep up with their prepping? I really wanted to buy about $300 worth of preps this next month, but will have to push it off another month. I tried to factor in the two weddings I was in. Just seems like other little things are coming up that are nickel and diming me. I got my two big toe nails removed by a podiatrist so that prep is done. I had some nasty ingrowns that were a chronic problem and finally just had them removed for good. Still going to cost me $160 out of pocket after insurance.
I just feel even if we don't have a shtf situation I would like to be well prepared. I could just be paranoid after reading Lights Out by David Crawford.
What do you think?

I'm sure you are not alone, this is a really hard time to prep. Summer means lots of additional expenditures on top of the price increases we've been seeing.
I got pretty much to where I wanted to be prep wise at the beginning of the year, thankfully. But since then I'm living off of what I have stored and what I can grow to try and save money. I've put enough aside that I can order more buckets/#10 cans at the end of the year to restock what I use.
So far it looks like it'll be a huge savings compared to groceries and I'm eating lots of veggies and whole grains so I really think it's improved my diet too.
That was kinda rambley but I guess what I wanted to say is that it's worth it, be patient, and keep planning
The more prepared you are; the more self sufficient you should become; and the less money you'll actually need to survive.

I've kept up for so long...
...and then I had to start paying for my tuition, and oh, we just bought a house, lol. I'm pretty well cleaned out of everything except for toothpaste-still have plenty of toothpaste!
After we get settled in and make the necessary repairs/renovations to the house, I'm hoping to REALLY start the stocking up back up. Our kitchen needs to be almost completely gutted, so I don't really want to buy a lot until I have a place to store it conveniently.

I've been pretty well stocked for about 2 years but it seems like as I restock something used I'm out or almost out of 2 more things. Been out of the high cost items as far as being stocked for about a year. I'm going back at it with the idea of main concern of restocking the high cost items now while we can and lower cost items slower.
Seems like there is always something there to take your money before you can catch up.
On the positive side, in the beginning, most everything lasted about 8 months to a yearBank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

It is an ongoing process. Some months I do better than others, but I always have a plan. Sometimes everyday things get in the way. I don't beat myself up, I just get back to the plan and work it!
