it you have augustine or bermuda grass, forget it.
    11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

Heres the thing. Mich. season is so short I tried to use a small greenhouse in the house and things started great. But as soon as i moved it outside the winds and extreme rain knocked all the pots over. My outside garden was filled w/ weeds so i couldn't get in it even (tall woody weeds). Quite by accident the dogs started sneaking in my fenced garden. The more they sat,the more the weeds died. It will be interesting this spring to see if I can just throw a little plastic W/ bricks on it and plant. I cant plant til May but I am curious. No till by dogs.

You could use pigs, they'll till your garden for free and eat the bugs too! They love grubs.

I'm on the look out for some outside tables so I can do a few raised beds. still havent got my manure for the spot where the notill garden is located. I'm thinking of creating some vertical bags to hang from my clothes line poles- saw something online and think I can recreate it (we'll see). I am working with what limited space I have available and what is being allowed by apt manager.... so far I'm sprouting radish's, cabbage, lettuce but they aren't making it to ground.

Good for you! Also, I saw online somewhere, or it was in an Urban Farming mag...someone was using PVC framework with caps on the end and holes drilled in it in from of a window to grow plants in.

Looked sorta funky, but they put it inside in front of their sliding glass door and it got enough light I guess.

Check out Urban Farmer and see what they've got

Get huskies. They eat a lot less than other breeds, and they also excel at landscaping.

And as a side bonus, if you happen to need more huskies, you can build your own out of all the spare hair laying around the house.

Oh my goodness! That is so funny! I thought our yogi only did those kinds of stunts. He's part Lab and part Rot and acts like he's digging to china.

My friend named him after Yogi the Bear. He is the most demanding (he never begs, he demands), impatient, exciteable, conniving bugger I've ever seen!

He's one of the smartest dogs I've ever met and he knows how to play people, LOL!

If you try to put one over on him, he'll catch on and the next time you offer him a treat to go outside (so you can shut the door behind him), he'll sit there and debate:

    1. Are they coming outside with me...
    2. Do I want the treat enough to go outside and risk having the door shut behind me...
    3. Can I do a snatch and run back in before they can close the door?
    4. Nah, might as well take the bait while it's being offered.

Then he'll sigh this big heavy sigh and trot outside.

He took me skiing across the yard one day when I tried to give him a bath. I had flip-flops on and had hold of his collar. He pulled me so far, I was squealing!

    LOL! He's Yogi...

That hole Sugar was working on was actually about a foot deeper. She was backing out when I took the pic.

I've done a lot of container gardening. This year in addition to my containers, I'm going to put in a 3-Sisters garden and that will be no till but still built up a bit. I probably will have support of some sort all the way around so I don't know if you would consider it more no till or container. But regardless...I'm not tilling anything! :0)

Good for you! There's more than enough work to do without having to till the dirt! I don't do well with container gardening...could be because my pots are black and the sun dries them out and I get busy and forget to water them, LOL!
