Jericho had a lot of problems. Not the least of which was trying to liken the aftermath of a localized disaster like Katrina that effected a handful of states to to the aftermath of a nation wide nuclear holocaust.

As I understand it. Gerald McRaney insisted they kill his character off. The minute he found out that the writers had decided to make a Dick Cheney like character the perpetrator of the murder of millions of Americans and that there would be a Blackwater type contractor outfit preying on the survivors. (Trust me. If the Extreme Right Wing wanted to nuke its own people. Not a single NUDET would have been recorded in Texas...But Berkley would have been...Gone.)

The writers kept trying on one liberal, Hollywood, post apocalyptic cliche, fantasy after another, every other episode and then discarding them as their ratings continued to plummet.

The post apocalyptic Second American Civil War will be conducted in spiffy, freshly laundered black Polo Shirts and 5.11 pants...at least according to Jericho.

Apparently Ravenwood had also captured a hair dresser somewhere and made her their slave.

I loved that show. I nearly went into formal mourning when it was over.

I was thinking about the same thing, Sinopa. I'd love a series or some movies I could watch regarding the same topics. Off the top of my head I can't think of a single one but when it hits me in the middle of the night, I'll post!

As I understand it...Warner Brothers is making One Second After into a movie.

While it would take a much larger number of EMP detonations than described in the book...It is a pretty good look at what would happen if and when the lights went out.

That is a great book! I think if it becomes a movie it might help to wake a lot of people up!

The difference between Jericho and One Second After is the Gerald McRainey's character didn't end up putting looters on their knees and shooting them in the back of the head in Jericho.

Common run of the mill scum bags committing Brigandry and being hung for it, is a lot more likely scenario than Dick Cheney and Haliburton with Machine guns coming to your tiny town to establish a Neo-Conservative, Ultra Right Wing Dictatorship.
