    Default My Pantry

Hi all! I've been so inspired by all of your pictures of your pantries, so I took a picture of my own to show you. The bottom shelf is my baking stuff and is a bit disorganized still. The rest is pretty self-explanatory. The very top shelf, (separate picture) is part of my cereal stockpile. The rest is in the basement. Not as impressive as many of the ones I've seen here at the village, but it's still my contribution to my family being prepared and having food on hand that was bought very cheaply.

Great photos, Amy, thanks for sharing them. It's strange how these pantry/stockpile photos inspire and instruct. It's a great way of helping other villagers organise their own kitchens.

I'm always very interested to see how other women plan for lean times or just simply stock up so they don't have to go to the grocery store every week. Having a cupboard like yours prepares you for those bad times and it's just a great way to save time. I wish I'd had my stockpile when I was working full time.

Now, I didn't se any Vegemite in your pantry. Would you like to tell me why?

    I love seeing stockpiling pictures.

Amy, you look like you will be able to feed your family for quite some time on your pantry stockpile. Great job!!

Rhonda, to be completely honest, I have absolutely no idea what Vegemite is even made of, but ever since I first heard the term "Vegemite sandwich" in the Men at Work song "Land Down Under" it's made me a little queasy. We've got lots of applesauce, though! Does that count?

Actually I have a funny recent Vegemite story. All Australians take Vegemite with them when they travel. MY DS (in Canada) ran out of the big jar he took with him so I sent him a few tubes of the good stuff - they do a plastic tube for travellers. One of his friends over there saw him squeezing Vegemite from the tube onto his toast and said: "I didn't think there was anything you could do to make Vegemite worse than it already is, but that tube does it." LOL!!!!
