    Default self powering flashlights, radios

Hello....I am new to posting here. We used to have a crank radio and flashlight, but it was poorly made of plastic, and broke when dropped by a visiting child. I am thinking these might make great Christmas gifts this year for my family....if I can find one that is reliable, well made, and economical to buy. I have been doing some online searching, but can find no standards of reliability for these. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I think these are essential for any home preparedness kit. silkmomj

A great place to purchase anything like this is at http://www.lehmans.com/

Also http://www.leevalley.com/home.aspx has a great looking hand cranked radio which we plan on purchasing next time were in Winnipeg. I'm not sure if Lee Valley is in the States, however they have some wonderful items for being prepared along with great gardening items, etc.

Don't have one but many online stores sell this brand. Target, Brookstones, Amazon.

    Check out Emergency Essentials at

    www.beprepared.com

They have the flashlight/radio combos, as well as some 4 power radios (Hand crank, solar power, DC or battery). We have purchased several things from them. Their prices seem competitive.
