Default Please get a CO detector and make sure it works!

One of my co-workers could have died from CO poisoning yesterday- she had a faulty stove and she and her boyfriend both had terrible headaches. Luckily, they somehow caught on, which is good because they also hav a small baby- 4 months old. They were also extremely lucky in that for some reason the doc didn't make them all have a carboxyhemoglobin test done, which would have been painful for them all, especially the little guy.

The whole ordeal could have been avoided if they had a $20 CO detector with batteries in it. Please make sure yours is working.

Thanks for the reminder, we have one that's just sitting in a closet. I haven't hung it since we painted. I need to make sure all of our dk's have them as well.

Thanks for the reminder! We have one and it's in working order. Something like what you're describing happened to one of my second cousins a few years ago. The terror of such a thing happening to my babies helps to keep me vigilant about these things but reminders are always welcome!

Along with that, please check and make sure your smoke detectors are working as well.
