    Good list, but instead of stocking up on matches, try buying a piece of Swedish firesteel. Google it - they are quite inexpensive and can light hundreds of fires. They work best if you have something that lights easily, like cotton balls. However, you can also light pieces of cloth from jeans, leaves, paper, etc.

    It's a great peace of mind that you won't find yourself unable to start a fire.
