Once again- I'm glad we were prepared!
Last week we had tornatoes and power outages, this week it's blizzards, road closures, etc.
we knew yesterday that the weathe was going to be bad-- and I had to take my mom to the doctor. I did a check of my food stuffs/ etc and determined that I needed to run to the store for. . . . NOTHING.
I called my son to see if he needed anything-- and he didn't need anything either.
I was amazed at the people who were completly unaware that the storm was coming-- and those who knew, but didn't bother to prep (even yesterday!). Too many are having car accidents, etc this morning trying to get to the grocery store today! ARGH!

I know, it's like bad weather causes stupidity in some people isn't it Denise? When I know it's coming we hunker down. I don't like to have to be out in it when it actually gets here. I enjoy being cuddled up by the fire, waiting on the stew to come off the stove.
And not to mention be prepared with flashlights, batteries, generators, etc.... . We try to always keep stuff on hand for real, severe emergencies.

It does get wacky. Doesn't take much to have a little of this or that to get you through. Most storms aren't major deals just a little inconvenience for a couple days at most so you should always have basics on hand to see you through.
Only go out if you must.
Pet peeve~Not sure how things are where the rest of you live where it snows but they(the weather forcasters) make every inch of snow sound like the storm of the century. Bee boo beeboo warning warning....

Around here, we all live on little back country roads-- so snow storms of this size means that many will be snowed in for long periods. If I didn't happen to live on the same road as the road commisioiner, I'd still be snowed in. There is just too many miles and not enough money to plow everyone out quickly. Even more of a reason to be prepared! But lots of people have moved here from the cities and they still think it works like the cities.Originally posted by Darlene
