Default How do you make fresh creamed corn?

My ex's father had a huge garden and he grew corn (among other things - his fresh produce is the ONLY thing I miss about that relationship!!!)

He would freeze his corn in freezer bags and it was sssooo good! He says he just scraped it off the ear - but no real whole kernels came off - it was more like creamed corn and I've really been craving some lately.

Isn't there some tool that you put around a corn cob and it kind of saws the kernels off the ear? Is this what I would need?

I want to get some yummy fresh corn this year, and I'd like to freeze some....
