I miss playing outside in the neighborhood all day and then coming home to a home cooked meal on the table.
Now I'm the one cooking that meal.

being able to make a new friend any time, any where, just because you happen to be in the same place at the same time, we used to go to a lot of auctions and I remember playing with any old kid who happened to be there and genuinely enjoying it
and also, a total lack of self consciousness

I was just thinking about that the other day. I miss someone being up before me and going to bed with my dad still up. And me not being responsible for anything...like what's for supper or my clean clothes. I lived in the moment.

I miss being completely oblivious to all the crappy things in the world.

I miss my grandparents. I miss playing in the dirt with my sister and cousins. I miss catching fireflies in the night. I miss my grandma's home-cooked meals.

Like Blitzen, I miss the carefree life back then. Not aware of many things that were going on in the real world.
And of course having dinner ready when I got home. Having my clothes cleaned and ironed. Wow, I really had it good back then.Married to DH(11 years)

~Waking up at my leisure after 8 am and hearing my parents and siblings talking and laughing in the family rooms. I especially miss someone else cooking breakfast for me, though my mom spoils me with a cooked breakfast every Monday when I visit her house. It's my favorite time of the week!~

Summer vacation! The longest time I've ever had off work was a week and a half to recover from surgery...lol.

I hear you guys about the icecream truck!!!! We even had a "donut man" too. Watching Saturday morning cartoons. During the summer our school operated a "parks & recreation" all the kids would go there and hang out and do sports. Lying on my back and watching pillowy clouds take shape.
