Default Any remedies for a head cold.....

besides just giving it time. I am taking an over the counter decongestant. I can't tell if it is working because I am still stopped up. Been almost a week now. Taking the medicine every 4 hours. I am using nose spray at night. That is the only relief I can get.
HELP!!!!!!!!! I would like to be able to beathe again.

claritan D is very good.I suffer from allergies and take this often. If this doesn't work maybe you should go to the dr. it could be a sinus infection.I get those very often and the pollen is getting very bad now.At least in florida

A humidifier would probably help too.

I hope you get some relief soon.

I thought maybe it was a sinus infection but when I blow my nose everything is clear. With an infection it would be greenish-yellow I thought. My nose runs in the morning- about when the nose spray stops helping. But as soon as I blow I get stopped up. Every now and then I can feel some "crackling" going on, especially when I shower with hot water. Forget being frugal right now with the water- I want relief.

I sometimes dab some Vic's Vapo-Rub under my nostrils. If all else fails, a double-shot of Nyquil & my bed! Hope you get better soon....

Extra vitamins, hot showers, Vicks...... all good.

I also eat wasabi (the green Japanese horseradish). It has the ability to lift the top of my head! And it seriously empties out the sinuses and helps me breathe better. I put a big squirt of it into a bowl of hot chicken noodle soup.

Here's another idea: massage. Hubby gives my face and scalp a good rub down and it seems to help break the congestion loose.

Hope you get to feeling better!

Default My son has this right now

He ended up at the Dr as it turned into an ear infection but what helped him the most was Vics VapoRub. Boil some water. Pour it over a small amount of Vics in a bowl or pan. Drape your head with a towel and breath in the fumes. It helped him ALOT!

Good luck - hope you feel better soon!

We find eating garlic helps head colds.

Lots of stream and nose blowing.
