    Default Appliance clocks

I have a microwave, coffeepot & stove that all tell time (different times none-the-less). Does anyone know how to "disengage" that feature? It will save energy as well as keep me a little more sane.

My microwave would be really difficult to unplug, as the wiring goes back through the wall and into an upper cupboard. I actually like having a "clock" in the kitchen anyway.

You should (and I do) unplug the coffee pot after use each morning, not so much for energy savings as to prevent appliance fires. (Same with toasters, curling irons, etc.) I get kind of fussy about unplugging everything when I leave for the day or go to sleep for the night.

I do leave the Dish T.V. box plugged in, because supposedly it goes through some sort of refresh at about 3a every day.

We unplug things. My microwave looses it's correct time if the power flickers anyway (does at least once a week) so it's always unplugged unless we are actively using it. I would suggest putting it on a strip if the plug is hard to get to. That's what we have done with all computer stuff (tower, monitor and printer) it's all on one strip. So is the tv and dtv thing - on a strip. Only thing we keep on all the time is the fish tank BUT the light went out recently and we haven't replaced it. LOL gotta get some $ and go get fishies a new bulb - they must think it's a LONG night. LOL
