KitchenAid 6-quart stand mixer opinions..
It's the newest model and I was wondering what your thoughts are about it if you own one?

I think it's purdy.

I own a smaller lower power kitchen-aid where the head tilts back and prefer that to the kind where the bowl lifts up & down.
Are you going to be making lots of bread? If so, I can see buying the more powerful machine.
You'll enjoy it no matter what you choose & will find yourself smiling loviningly as you see it on your counter, lol.~*Darlene*~

I have a Kitchen Aid Professional 6 mixer and would recommend it to anyone. Mine is about 4 years old, and has a matte/textured steel gray finish that they don't make anymore. It gets a workout and has never let me down.

I also have the 6 quart professional and love it! Mine is about 14 years old, used almost every day, and I have never had a problem with it. Do get an extra work bowl ~ it's worth it.

I do own the 5-quart KitchenAid mixer and I love it..But..I want a more powerful mixer for everday use as well as making lots of bread.. I was going to ask for this for a christmas present...But I could not pass this deal up so I bought the Professional 600 Series 6-Quart Stand Mixer last night on Amazon for a really good price of $141.00 plus a free ice cream maker(a bonus for buying certain models...you can view the rebate form on the KitchenAid website if interested ) plus free shipping and after redeeming my gift certificates..the original cost w/the free ice cream ,maker was $520.00 I'm totally excited!

I have the Professional 600, I love it. I don't know anyone else with it because it is soooooo incredibly expensive in Canada and never goes on sale. Most people get the smaller artisan model which is on sale all the time. I love the bowl lift and I love the size. I'm so glad I didn't get the smaller one.

Brenda you got an awesome deal! My DH bought me a 6 qt professional stand mixer 2 years ago for Christmas for $299 plus a free slicer/shredder attachment. I thought that was a great deal lol. If I was in need of one or wanted one, I would not have been able to pass up the deal you got either. Congrats on the saving big time and enjoy the new mixer!

many people are having trouble with that model for some reason they are not made like they used to be before the company was sold there is a thread on cake central discussing them and too many were saying they had problems
I bought one and was going to give my smaller one to my son . Sorry ds I still use my little one the most.
with my 6 qt it is loud the on off lever seems to stick and I am afraid it will break.
Do not get me wrong I still believe Kitchen Aid is King but this one model has more complaints than I have ever heard... The ladies at Cakecentral said get the 5 qtMeg

I love mine. I got it for free off my credit card points though. I save them up until I had enough. It took me two years to do it. I put everything on my credit card that I can (bills, purchases, everything) and then pay it off every month.
