Default Kitchen tools - electric or hand ?

I have some electric tools in the kitchen but it seems I fall back on the simple stuff most of the time.
For example, I am doing some pumpkin right now for the freezer. My main tool is the steamer. I am using a regular knife, and I was using a potato masher to get it ready to go in the baggies. I was going through the tool drawer and I found a meat tenderizer hammer. Hmmm, I thought. I tried it out on the cooked pumpkin and like it better than the potato masher

So what would be your most used and or favorite kitchen work item ?

My favorite is my Wolf Range, but that probably doesn't count. Next to that, it's my KitchenAid food processor, I use it for everything.

Oh there are so many for different reasons. My kitchenaid mixer gets used a ton. But I also use my favorite wooden spoon daily. A simple wire whisk gets the dickens used out of it in my kitchen. But I guess I would have to say my knives. When I was working in restaurants doing what I loved I actually sprang for some high quality german forged knives, a complete set. They were costly as heck but at the time I needed them, I was a line chef and taking part in food competitions so I needed some quality knives that would hold up to the abuse of hard use. 11 years later even in my tiny country kitchen, with proper care, maintenance, and sharpening they are well used but still new looking. Man I love those knives.

The only real 'electrics' in my kitchen other than my coffee pot is my microwave, rice steamer and bread maker... everything else is done the 'old fashioned way'.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

I adore my bread machine. We make a fresh loaf every day. My fantasy is a kitchen aid stand mixer. We can't buy ready-made baked goods so I do a lot of baking.
