Default getting the smell out of a microwave

I warmed some smoked meat a couple weeks ago, and the microwave still smells like smoke every time we use it. The inside has been wiped clean with kitchen cleaner , which helped some, but it is still a strong noticeable smell. Any suggestions for removing the odor?

boil some water & baking soda.
or you can make a past of baking soda & let it set on the walls of the microwave for a bit & wipe off...
sometimes boiling some vinegar can help if it still persists - then re-do the baking soda treatment.
    good luck!

You could also try packing it full of crumpled up newspaper, closing the door & leaving it for 24hrs. For some reason newspaper absorbs odours.

I agree with the hot water and vinegar trick. You can try making a paste of baking soda and water and wiping that onto the walls, then put the water and vinegar in for a few minutes to let it boil. Be careful and just let it sit in the microwave to cool off, then wipe the walls off after you've taken the vinegar/water mix out.

I like to heat fresh rosemary or lavendar from the yard in cup of water and then I use the strained water in a spray bottle to mist as air freshener.

I use about 1-1.5 cups of lemon juice, full strength & heat it till it boils, in my microwave that's about 4 minutes or so.
Leave to sit for a couple minutes, remove the bowl and wipe down with a sponge.
Then I take the lemon juice and pour down the drain to freshen it.

(Oh & the cheapie brand of lemon juice is what I use, the ones you can find at the Dollar store is fine, I think it sells for around $1.00 for a big bottle.)

I put a small bowl of baking soda in the microwave everytime I am finished using the microwave. Really helps to keep the smell away. Even after microwaving fish. Just wipe down the microwave then place the bowl of baking soda in it and close the door.
