    Default Where to buy SOCKS?

Three kids. Two adults. It's a lot of socks, or so you'd think.

Turns out that apparantly it's not. Or it is, but it's more of a rotational thing. The socks I buy don't last. They fall apart within the first two or three washings, or get worn through.

So I'm looking for a new sock resource. I don't want sport socks, or not JUST sport socks. Where do people buy socks, that last, that aren't tube socks?

(Widows and orphans are different and unrelated problem)

It'll be interesting to hear everyone's answer because we are finding the exact same thing with socks. We're in Canada. I've tried Superstore, Walmart, Zellars and pretty much any store that sells socks. Within a matter of a few washings they are wearing through or have holes in them.

I usually buy No Nonsense at Wal Mart. They make them in different sizes (for those of us who don't have a size 9-11 shoe size...I was tired of having the heel half way up my leg). I bought my last package about 1 1/2 years ago and you'd never know they were that old.

I am of no help here. I buy Vic the Hanes big pack of thick crew socks and have not had to throw any out in over a year.

I like Gold Toe socks for us grown ups. Dress socks for Hubby and turn down socks for me. I buy them at JC Penney's They last us years.

Son loves thin hole socks - go figure - So that is what he wears.

Daughter says all socks itch so I buy her Hanna Anddersson socks (they don't itch her). She is almost eight and is still wearing some she got when she was 3. They seems to still fit even though she has changed sizes. It is hard to tell the difference between her old ones and her new ones.

It's weird that people have problems with the WM socks. I've bought socks twice in my adult life, and both were just a package of the WM brand. They lasted about 7 years each and I'm just about ready for my 3rd package.

My husband's socks come from Walmart. The ones with a heel in them, not the tube socks anymore. I buy the same color.....white...so when he has to toss one, I can find another one real quick for him

Me, I been running around barefoot in the house this winter. Only because of the wood furnace or else I would be wearing socks.
I plan on knitting me a few pairs sometime this winter......as soon as I find a pattern that I think I won't pull my hair out over.

I buy most of my socks at Walmart. They do not last that long on me because I wear socks without shoes all the time around the house. I go to better department stores to buy "good socks".

I buy my hubby and son socks at Walmart....they last them about 2 or 3 years. I myself, love the socks from the dollar store. They are thin but I only wear socks in the winter....NEVER in the summer. I am barefoot all the time! The dollar store socks usually last me 2 winters.

we usually buy the Hanes socks when they're on sale (around back to school time), but even those have diminished in quality. It doesn't help that we all tend to wear socks in the house (without shoes) so we put a lot of wear and tear on them.

I buy socks for me at Northern Reflections and Costco. I have bought the Secret brand at Costco and they seem to hold up pretty well. I buy my husband the Kodiak work socks at Costco and I find they hold up really well. I just buy my son the cheap bagged socks at Zellers. they don't last but that's OK because he gets them all stained anyways.
