In Oregon it's $54 every two years. Not too bad, I guess!

i think our sable will be $81 this year

ds paid $21 because his car is over 17 years old

they also charge $2 if you want to renew by mail and an automatic $1.50 to verify insurance

    drivers license renewals around $20

when we lived in missouri it was somewhere between $50 & $60 for a two year tag

we also had to pay personal property tax every year to two places...one was the town we lived in and i can't remember if the other one was state or county

local personal property tax was around $20ish and the other was around $130ish

NJ goes by the weight of vehicle. My ford minivan is around $35, my 84 riviera convertible (a huge heavy tank of a car) is closer to $54.

We don't have state income tax, but (IMHO) it's made up for by high sales and vehicle tax. I don't recall off the top of my head exactly how much, and am too lazy to go look, but my 2006 Hyundai cost close to $300, and may have even been over $300, last year.

We're in PA. I pay $36.00 for my 2007 Honda Civic. Trucks' fees go by gross weight. I think there is also a program for retired folks who meet certain income standards. We have a mandatory inspection/emissions program as well; both must be done once a year, although some older vehicles and those folks who stay under a certain number of miles per year are exempt.
