Thread: Reuse stained baby clothes

I know others have suggested this too.. I cut stained clothes into 2x2 squares and throw them into a box. When the box is full, I sew them into a quilt. I either donate the quilt, (project linus is a great one) or sell it.

I think you could lightly stuff them, remove buttons, and sew them together and make amazing crib bumpers.
Or sew the bottoms shut and open the tops then sew them to a cute baby blanket or crib sheet to create sizeable pockets and hang it on the back of a closet door in a kids room for toys, socks, or little mittens and glove storage.
One of those long baby gowns with the string in the bottom on one of those little hangers would make an excellent "bag holder" for those plastic grocery bags. Shove them in the neck and pull them out the almost closed bottom.
Little baby overalls could be altered to hang on the wall and hold charging cell phones, i-pods, etc. and then hold the charger when not in use. You could even use a different one for each person in the house decorated to match their interests or personality.
I love these sorts of projects.Last edited by Thevail; 03-06-2009 at 01:40 AM.

It does I've used it on lots of set in baby stains and it takes it all out. I don't remember off the top of my head the exact recipie but if you want it let me know and I'll look it up. I'd do it now but my book is in the other room and don't want to disturb toddler napping in there.

Something I didn't see suggested - I have cut off the bottom half of a dress and sewn it to the bottom of a t-shirt or onesie (around the waist) to make a new dress.
Something to consider if you have a pretty dress with only stains near the top.

I use my bar of Fels Naptha to take out stains like baby poop and spit up. It seems to work better than oxiclean for me.
