    Question Pillow Question

How often do you change your pillows?

I was listening to one of the tv shopping shows
and people calling in saying how often they
change their pillows and their preferences.

We just got a new set for our bed, same brand
and make. The old set of pillows washed well
and while not as fluffy as when we first got them
they're really in not that bad a shape. Hope the new
one's work out as well. We've had the old ones 5+
years so we got our money's worth for them.
They were a bit expensive but worth it.

Here's a site to help you choose the
    right pillow for you:

I use my pillows until they are so full of lumps and bumps that I just can't get a good night's sleep anymore. I actually just bought new pillows last year - four of them. The old ones become dog/truck pillows, so I definitely squeeze all the life out of them before letting them retire!

~Well I've purchased 3 sets of pillows in 8 years and the current set is on the verge of replacement so I replace them every 2.5-3 years. I get polyester extra firms for around $5 each. The kids are using our 'old' pillows right now.~

I bought a pricey memory foam pillow last year, the contoured kind. It has, theoretically a 15 year warranty, but that seems not too plausible. At any rate, it was an investment I don't regret at all. It's wonderful. As for how often I usually replace them, I really couldn't say. It's seems to have varied a lot.

would it have been a Tepur-pedic pillow? thats what I have. I have neck issues and an ortho pillow is the only kind that I can use without severe neck pain. We also invested in a Tepur-pedic bed and we absolutely, positively love it! It's like getting in a new bed every night. Fantabulous!

My hubby refused to get a new pillow for over 10yrs! I couldn't see how he was sleeping with that thing LOL. He finally got a cheaper version of my ortho pillow, and he says he likes it.

I can't decide which option to vote for. Synthetic, or other? LOL LOL

I'm not big on replacing pillows. I need it to be soft and thin and that can only be achieved with time. I use synthetic because I am allergic to feathers.

Mine's a thin feather pillow that I beat into submission. A pillow that is too thick hurts my neck.

First things first, our dogs get our old pillows. I use a tempur-pedic pillow that I love. I don't know what it is made from, but it works. I have two cervical vertebra that are herniated so I get attached to good pillows. I even travel with it.

We buy new pillows a few times a year. Every couple of months we buy two new ones, rotating among the four of us who gets the new ones each time.

Our weimaraner loves to chew up pillows. We give him the old ones and within hours he has ripped them to shreds and we are cleaning up all of the mess.

OMG! so do I! LOL LOL I put a case on it that looks like it's from the 70's ( orange and yellow daisies), so anyone else knows it's not theirs. LOL

We get new pillows every 6-12-months because of dust mites. Ten percent of the weight of a two year old pillow can be composed of dead mites and their droppings. I'd rather get a new pillow than blow $20 on a dust mite cover for the pillow, that you're never really sure does the job - and they always feel stiff on the pillow.

We also love to go to Tuesday Morning for our pillows, good selection and great prices.

I've had the same pillow for about 3 years now. It's a water filled pillow and was close to $100. I needed it because of a car accident. I would never be able to go to a normal pillow again. Dust mites or not I'll use this pillow as long as I can - I just love it
