birth control pills ???
the price of bc pills has gone thru the roof the last year...i was paying about $14 a pack (thru planned parenthood) they are now up to $23 a pack...(and that's getting a 3 pack discount)... the pharmacy is even worse...they are outrageous....
does anyone know of anywhere i can get them a little less expensive? besides mexico....haha? there are places you can order them off the internet (without a rx..mind you) but i would HATE to take a chance with something like that....i could 'get-over' a bad prescription if i developed a cold or something...a baby...that would be a little more difficult.....haha...
OR i could just get rid of dh.... then i would save tons of money on everything !

Have you tried any of the stores that offer $4 generics? I believe Walmart, Target, Walgreens, and a few others offer this.

I guess I'd consider 23.00 a month pretty darn cheap for BC.
Certainly cheaper than the alternative

I used to get mine from canadadrugsonline.com. They are friendly and reliable and carry the same brands available in the US. The packaging will be different, though. If you need a prescription in the US you will need one in Canada. Just ask your doctor's office to send you a copy to use "for mail order".
Whatever site you use, make sure they are a member of CIPA. Look for their logo, get the number and double check on the CIPA site. That's how you can tell if it is a legal pharmacy or not.
Walmart's list of $4 generics does not include any birth control. I think Target had one, though.Last edited by Contrary Housewife; 01-31-2009 at 01:03 PM.

I'm guessing you don't have health insurance? I pay $10/mo for mine, but that's with insurance.
Does your Dr. have any recommendations for a cheaper alternative?

my insurance won't cover them....they don't care if i get pregnant coz they won't cover that either.....
i will check into target....and i can get a written rx from the doc so maybe i can check into the canada thing...thanks for giving me the low-down on what to look for coz i worry about ordering those things...and like i said....babies are WAY too much of a risk to take for a 'bad' prescription..... if anyone knows of anything else....i am open to suggestions.....

Walmart generic BC pills are $27.00 for a three month supply. At least that is what I just paid here in Northern Virginia.
That was cheaper than my insurance co-pay! Go figure!
