Organizing crafts/hobbies and files
I posted a series of threads on the sewing board about this. But maybe it's better suited to you ladies on the organization board.
I am a fibre artist/crafter. I quilt, sew, traditional rug hook, knit, do needlework of various sorts, scrapbook, and do actual art on paper and canvas...very occasionally now. I do it for myself and for other people.
How do I set up a system to keep track of files on works in progress and finished projects. Do I need to keep files on finished projects? Where? How long?
Also, I have 30 unfinished projects (believe me, I'm working on this right away!). I am in the process of organizing them to be more portable and breaking them into smaller steps. How do you prioritize which project gets done first? You all might not have craft projects, but I'm guessing you have home projects you work on. How do you prioritize them?
And then there's the actual studio, which is a mess right now. My design wall for quilting has boxes of fabric in front of it, making it inaccessible. I'm thinking a major purge and sewing spree is in order...
Any ideas for organizing my space and time anyone?2012 Challenges
