mine are a joke...i agree with everyone that as soon as you try to use them 'again' they fail.... mine are the roll type also and i bought a 4-pack and every one of them failed...the zippers don't stay on right they lose air....

i did however take some with me last month on a trip coz they do reduce the amount of space in your case (but so would any other flat bag you 'cram' a bunch of stuff into....

if you have to 'buy' them....save your money....

why not try the new super large zip-locs that they have been advertising....i don't think you suck the air out but you can cram alot in there too....

They work well for storing stuff long term, like seasonal. Since you seem to want to store seasonally & for extra linens they should work great for you.

It's the larger one that didn't work for me either. Which is what I needed (large ones) because we have a bunch of comforters/quilts between the six of us and not enough storage space.

I have a set of bags that I bought in fall of last year just for blankets and spare bedding. I've never tried the cubes. So far, mine have been used just once and seem to be holding their seal. I suppose the true proof in the pudding will be whether mine are truly reusable as others have noted. I had a tricky time initially getting my vacuum hose to attach. The only complaint I have is that once you have a stack of something, it's kind of hard to cram it in the opening. If the bags had an accordion fold to their sides to allow for loading things in, that would be great.

I had a set and they worked good till my cat got in the closet and put holes in all of them. So if you have any animals don't buy them.

they definitely compress well but you have to be careful not to tear them, at all. my cats got hold of mine and they are now just big ole regular bags.

I really like mine. I've had them for about 5 years and no problems.

Thanks to everybody who responded. There sure seem to be a variety of opinions!! It sounds like the 'luck of the draw' whether the ones you buy work for more than one season.

Anyway, thanks to you guys, I went internet surfing and found the following DIY:

    http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Your-Own...d-Storage-Bags

I think I'll try the DIY first, since I already have the materials on hand (contractor bags, rubber bands, hot air).

I'll let you know if they work.

Mine wouldn't stay sealed and so I called the company for replacements and never heard from them.
