Smile Money Managing Program - Suggestions, Please.

    Hi,

What's the best program to help me manage my money? I've never used a program before so I'm not too familiar with what's out there, but I would like to know where every cent I spend is going (would like to writ the name of the place where I spent money) and to have my own record of how much I have at the bank. Is there anything out there that pretty much trumps all other programs? lol

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    -A

I have used the Microsoft money program for almost 2yrs now. I like the program. Quicken is very much the same as Microsoft. They both can be set up to work with your bank account and work with the bill paying process. Good Luck.

Thanks very much for the response and the help. If I could ask one last question. By "work with", do you mean in real time? Like, whenever my bank account updates the program will as well?

Yes. It can set payments up in categories which will enable you to make a budget and see where your money is going. For example my categories are Bills (Cable, Phone, Oil, Electric, Rent and so on) Medical, Food (groceries and Dining out) Leisure, Miscellaneous, Personal Care. Those are just some of them. It produces reports that allow you to see how much you have spent and how much you have saved. It' a very good program. Quicken is the same (I have heard)
