    Question Baking Powder

I have several little canisters of baking powder.

What other uses can I use this for - other than the obvious in cooking?

    Thanks in advance!

I don't have a suggestion, but don't store it in the refrigerator because it can shorten the shelf life.

    "Baking Powder
...Regardless of the expiration date, the effectiveness can be tested by placing a teaspoon of the powder into a small container of water. If it fizzes energetically, it's still active and usable.

    but...

Baking soda is actually the primary component IN baking powder, so it's no surprise that pretty much anything you can do with baking soda, you can do with baking powder. (cleaning, brushing teeth, deodorizer for cat box)

I sprinkle it in the cat box. I only have one kitty but she sure is stinky and this really helps when I'm busy and forget to scoop!

Baking powder has baking soda in it, but they are different compounds. Here are three links you may find helpful...
