Price of Sugar?
I don't know why I haven't kept up better with my price book, but well, I haven't.
Anyway, I seem to remember the cost of flour but am stumped on sugar. Hannaford has 5 lb of sugar for 58 cents this week, and I am just curious if this is good. I know prices can vary greatly geographically, but a ballpark figure would be helpful.
TIA

Heck Yeah! That is good! Usually it's over $2 for a 5lb bag around here! I was in hannaford today and didn't see sugar for that cheap or I would have picked up a few! Wow! Take advantage of that!!

Here, it's $4 per 4kg bag (so almost 9lbs). I don't usually buy sugar unless it's a huge sale and I can get a 10lb bag for cheap.

Are you kidding? I haven't seen sugar that price in ages. What a bargain!! Too bad GA doesn't have Hannaford's. I don't use much sugar for cooking, but I would buy it for my hummingbird mixture. They can polish off a whole bag a year!!! Which reminds me, it's time to set up their feeding contraptions.

I'm wondering if it was a typo. I'm looking at the circular online, and it says 58 cents in the print version, but when I move my mouse over it to highlight it, it says $2.45.

Maybe I'll go check it out tomorrow.

Our price of sugar is usually close to $2.00 for 5 pounds. That is a great deal!

The cheapest I have found it is 2.49 for 5 lbs. I would bring the circular with you and see if they will match it seeing as it was their error..... Hey, it's worth a shot!

Unfortunately they have a disclaimer on the bottom of the ad saying that they reserve the right to correct typographical or pictoral errors. Ah well. So if $2.45/5lb is the sale price, I need to check out what the regular price is. Sheesh, that's more than I thought.
I need to check the price at Sam's, though I think the last time I checked, they were very similar.

I don't buy sugar unless it's $2 for a 5# bag or less. It doesn't go on sale for that here all that often. Our Aldi's and Dollar General have the cheapest price per pound often beating out the sale prices at regular stores.

Thanks Michelle, we will be going through several pounds (30lbs!) of sugar in the next few weeks as we get our bee hives up and running. I'm in MA too and will run by Hannaford's to stock up!
