Default What's in your crockpot today?

    Hi everyone,
    Inquiring minds want to know
It seems I only use my crockpot for holidays when I have to make beans to take to the party.
I am looking for inspiration from you'all of things I can make when I am at work. Trying very hard to break the eating out habit.
Today I made soup using left over spaghetti and noodles, beef soup base, water, carrots, spinach, hamburger and grated cheese.
I can't wait to go home and have dinner ready.
    Anybody else??
    Best Wishes,
    Sue

Funny, I have beans in my crockpot to take to a party on Saturday. We're expecting 60 people for Mexican food, and I'm in charge of beans and rice. My favorite crockpot recipe is from 5dollardinners.com, potato chowder.

I have bbq pork ribs in mine! I had a little "accident" with my crockpot a few days ago...the ceramic part that lifts out of the heating part...fell in my kitchen sink and broke part of the "handle" off...so I super glued it..and am trying it today..hopefully it's fine! I can't afford to buy a new one now..and I love using my crockpot

cheese, light cream, pepper, pasta - homemade mac n cheese! You can also do this in a ricecooker.

I'm going to my parents house tonight for dinner, where this is a potato soup someone made for me already simmering away. This is obviously the best sort of crock pot dinner...one you didn't even have to start

Mine is actually empty today, but I use it all the time for cooking meat and making soup stock. Buy a large roast, turkey breast, or ham, then season and cook all day. De-bone the meat for sandwiches, casseroles, etc. Dump all remains and broth back in the pot, add vegetable ends/peels, salt, pepper, couple tablespoons of vinegar, and fill with water. Cook all day again and strain through a dish towel or cheesecloth for yummy soup stock!

Refrigerate stock overnight, skim fat, then pour back in crockpot to make soup. I usually dump in tomatoes, potatoes, mixed veg, onion, some extra seasoning, etc. I feel the broth is so nutritious that I don't often add meat to the soup.
